JKA - Shotokan Federation of Serbia
In the same year, it became a member of the world renowned JKA (Japan Karate Association), one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious karate organizations, which played a leading role in the global expansion of karate during the 1980s. It later became a member of another international organization dedicated to Shotokan karate, the WSKA (World Shotokan Karate-do Association), thereby becoming the representative in Serbia of two of the world’s leading organizations for this style of karate. Since its establishment the Federation has constantly produced a large number of World and European champions. For many years, it has ranked among the leading organizations in European Shotokan karate and has successfully promoted Serbian sport on the international stage. The Federation is a member of the Serbian Karate-do Confederation, an umbrella organization which encompasses all karate styles and is dedicated to uniting karate organizations throughout Serbia.
