Absolutely not. This is one of the most common misconceptions that prevents people from getting started in the first place. Training is what helps you get into shape. Everyone starts from zero at some point, then adapts, improves and evolves.
 

Children can start practicing karate from the age of four. Regular and continuous training can have a significant positive impact on a child’s psychomotor development.

  • Karate helps develop: respect, discipline, self-confidence, concentration, creativity and motivation, while also helping children learn to control aggression.
  • Karate training improves: coordination, motor skills, speed and strength, agility, flexibility and proper posture.

No, you are not. There is a saying in karate: “The best time to start was 20 years ago. The second-best time is today.” Listen to your body and let it guide you.

As with any sport, there is a risk of injury in karate, but it can be significantly reduced through proper training, technique and supervision. Statistically, most karate injuries are minor, such as bruises and strains, while serious injuries are relatively rare thanks to strict rules and safety standards.
